Happy Memorial Day weekend, tea friends! First and foremost, we at Good Life Tea, would like to extend a very appreciative "thank you" to all those who have served our country. We are ever grateful for your continuous sacrifices in order to protect us and our families. Thank you again, and we choose to honor you this weekend!
Usually in doing so, we are used to going to picnics, watching parades, enjoying firework displays, etc. Also, if you haven't checked yet, not only is it supposed to be absolutely beautiful, but it is supposed to be HOT! Today, I'm going to talk to you all about something else "hot", but in this case, I mean spicy! 🔥
I thought, why not quite literally spice things up and feature some of our Chai teas in this post?!
For those unfamiliar, Chai tea is usually a black tea base, that incorporates different spices to add flavor and spice! The most common ones you will see are cardamom, cinnamon, fennel, black pepper and cloves. To learn a little more background about chai tea, check out this previously done blog post! It delves a bit deeper and gives you more on the history of this decadent drink!
One of the most popular teas we have here is our Heaven Sent Chai. This tea is a cardamom infused black tea that goes on to features notes of clove, cinnamon, ginger, and black pepper. Our customer's have come back to us raving about their love of this tea's "sweet heat". The sweetness of the cinnamon hits your mouth just before the clove takes it up a notch! I love to drink this tea in the morning because the combination of flavors, combined with modest caffeine, perks me right up! I also enjoy this with a little milk. The creaminess adds just what I think this tea needs!
If you do enjoy this tea and are more partial to the spice at night, we are so excited to announce our new Spice Bomb Chai is here. This tea is very similar to our Heaven Sent Chai except for the fact that is decaf! Some find that spice actually relaxes them and helps them ease into the evening. If this is you, this is a tea I highly recommend. Being decaffeinated, it is also a great tea to brew into the afternoon. The spice alone can help you to remain alert without the addition of caffeine to keep you up into the evening.
Speaking of afternoon teas, another chai that I especially enjoy into the afternoon is our Vanilla Chai. I am partial to anything with a vanilla flavor profile, so I immediately was drawn to this tea. What's nice about enjoying it in the afternoon is it has a mild caffeine content as well. This tea will keep me going with my work into the afternoon, yet I don't feel the effects later into the evening. I particularly enjoy the smoothness that vanilla adds to this tea. It removes the need to add any sweeteners and is all around a full bodied tea.
The last two teas I want to highlight here today for you are our Fireside Chai Rooibos tea and our Rooibos Chai tea. I want to make sure to include these tea as their base leaf is not a black tea, as mentioned above. These teas both have a base of our rooibos tea! If you don't know much about our rooibos teas, or rooibos in general, please take a look at this blog post. This post takes the time to outline exactly what this tea, hailing from South Africa, is and why you should have it in your cup today! Our Fireside Chai is a beautiful, organic, and award winning blend of black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon, clove, ginger, honeybush, and rooibos is reminiscent of the comfort of sitting by a fire. When you sip it, the spices included will remind you of the crackling embers and encourage you to smile as you recall memories. Our Rooibos Chai implores the base rooibos tea but also weaves in the classic chai flavors of cardamom, cinnamon, coriander, and nutmeg. It also is naturally a caffeine free tea, so again, a great tea to enjoy later in the afternoon, or even into the evening!
With all of these chai teas to take a look at and to try, we hope we have spiced up your Memorial Day weekend! Get out there, enjoy the sunshine, and sip on a spicy cup of chai tea! Remember to honor those who have given their lives for our safety! - Kaytea :)
