Hello, my tea sipping sidekicks! With our recent increase in guest blogging it's been a hot minute since I have gotten a chance to write! I've missed you all!
First of all, that phrase "hot minute" is very facetious in relation to this weather we have been having! Can you say "brrr!"?
I know some of you love this time of year and relish in the glittering of the fresh snow or absolutely adore how the sunlight so perfectly sparkles off the powder. This is not me. While I can appreciate these sights, I much prefer the sparkles to be off the waves of the lake on a beautiful day of sunny and 75º. I digress.
While I may favor the warm, summer days, I may not appreciate them as much if it weren't for these chilly days to compare. And while I don't particularly love (actually, loathe) the cold, I have found that some of our teas here certainly serve to soften the harshness of this thing we call winter.
You guys know that I am a huge proponent for our Roasted Yerba Mate. I won't dwell here too long, but I will tell you that when the cold encourages me to stay cuddled up in bed or to avoid getting things done in leaving the house, this, well in my humble and personal opinion, magic elixir, helps me to fight these urges! This tea is very high in caffeine (or mateine) and keeps me motivated, alert, and ready to brave the cold! To learn more about our Roasted Yerba Mate, check out this blog article!

Another tea that allows me to mentally escape the cold is our very popular Piña Coloda! Our Piña Coloda tisane tea is a beautiful blend of the classic flavors of coconut, apple, and pineapple complemented by notes of rosehips and hibiscus. What this tea does is grant me my wish of escaping to that warm, tropical island for the duration of my cup. I am able to imagine myself under a palm tree, ocean breeze and all. At least in mind mind, as Zac Brown might say, my toes are in the water, *bum* in the sand, not a worry in the world, *cup of tea* in my hand.
Our most popular tea, the Hot Cinnamon Spice, is another tea that proves especially proficient in warming the soul. This smoldering black tea features three different kinds of cinnamon (if you were like me, I didn't even know there were three different types of cinnamon!), cloves, and ember like citrus chips. Many of our customers describe the flavors to resemble that of the popular gum, "Big Red". I can see this, but this tea more so just reminds me of being snuggled in my slippers and a big blanket in front of a beautiful fire. The spices dance with the fire and furthermore certainly remedy your shivers.
Lastly, another tea that proves especially popular for thawing after a long day this time of year is our Belgian Chocolate. This Rooibos tea is infused with cacao which results in that indulgent dessert flavor we so seek after the long cold days. Moreover, it's not accompanied by those pesky calories that actual Belgian Chocolates or other desserts embody! We want to help you stay on track with those New Year's resolutions! What's more is, endorsed by Dr. Oz, rooibos teas encompass a broad spectrum of vitamins. It being the cold and flu season, we all need to keep our vitamin intake up and make sure we are staying healthy! Also, as mentioned before, tea is an excellent component for staying healthy because it keeps us hydrated which can be tough this time of year! A cup of Belgian Chocolate a day, keeps the doctor away!
These are just a few suggestions to help you stay warm this week! If you're like me, you'll try just about anything to brave the cold and I wish you all success! Please let us know if you have any other personal favorites to stay toasty or if you have any suggestions of your own to add to the list! Stay warm, friends! -- Kay-tea :)
