Hello, or should I say ¡Hola!, mis amigos! As many of you know, and as I continue to remind you, I personally LOVE our Roasted Yerba Mate. I have written blog posts on it before (Click here to check it out!) and it remains one of the staples in my diet each morning! Recently, I was delighted, yet not surprised, to find out that the benefits of Roasted Yerba Mate are not only recognized and boasted by me, but also by many World Cup Soccer players!
Native to Brazil, our Roasted Yerba Mate advocates for increased mental awareness, energy, and focus. The chemical structure that it embodies, known as mateine (similar to caffeine), mimics many of the similar effects that we search for in caffeine while yet still suppressing any crash. This combination proves perfect for mere mortals such as myself, but even more so for professional athletes.
Players such as Lionel Messi, Diego Maradona, and Neymar da Silva Santos, some of the world's best players, all boast the benefits of drinking Yerba Mate and are seen regularly drinking it before games. Furthermore, the Pope is known to love Mate! That has to count for something, right?!
Great minds like all of these all agree that Roasted Yerba Mate has many overwhelming benefits and therefore continue to keep it as a daily ritual. Mate not only improves cognitive function, helps consumers to stay awake and alert but also has many other notable benefits. It is said to help prevent against many cancers, prevent against obesity, prevent against cardiovascular diseases, ward off harmful E. coli bacteria, reduces complications of hyperglycemia in diabetes, reduces damage done to the heart and liver, amongst many other advantages. It also contains various different vitamins that are necessary in your everyday diet.
With so many perks, many often wonder why Yerba Mate isn't more so known about or consumed? Only recently did this tea gain recognition by the English professional soccer team, notably Eric Dier. Yerba Mate is also often times marketed as a health food as opposed to a delicious beverage. Furthermore, it is a bit of an acquired taste. It is a bit smokey and a bit like bergamot-less Earl Grey. When I make my daily cups I like to add our raw amber sugars! It definitely adds a sweet caramel spin to the drink and gives me that little extra sugar rush I need in the morning!
I hope you guys stop in and try a cup or two of this wonderful tea! If you need any more reasons to give it a try please comment below because I can't say enough about it! I love it and I'm sure you will too! Happy sipping, friends! - Kay-tea :)
