We'll explore the choice of teas, brewing techniques, and the creation of a mindful space. Whether you're a seasoned tea enthusiast or a beginner, these insights will elevate your tea routine into a meditative and rejuvenating practice. Learn more below!

Selecting Your Tea

Choosing the right tea is the foundation of your calming routine. Consider herbal options like our Egyptian Chamomile, Lavender, and Peppermint, known for their relaxing properties. You may also look into our green tea selection, with their subtle caffeine content and rich antioxidants, offering a gentle uplift. Each type of tea brings a unique profile of flavors and health benefits. Exploring different varieties, from the robust richness of black tea to the delicate floral notes of white tea, can be a journey in itself. Selecting your tea becomes a personal exploration of taste and wellness.

Brew Times for Your Tea

The essence of tea lies in its brewing. For herbal teas, use boiling water and steep for 5-7 minutes. Green teas prefer cooler temperatures, around 80°C, with a steeping time of 2-3 minutes to preserve their delicate flavors. Black teas thrive at higher temperatures and longer steep times, usually around 3-5 minutes. Understanding the nuances of brewing can significantly impact the quality of your tea experience. The right temperature and time can unlock the full potential of the tea leaves, releasing their full flavor and aroma. Each of our packages details your brewing temperatures and steep time, so you don't need to worry about forgetting this or finding this out on your own. Simply look to your pouch and label and there it is!

Creating a Space for Your Tea Routine

Your environment influences your tea experience. Designate a peaceful corner in your home where you can savor your tea undisturbed. Add elements like soft lighting, calming music, or a view of nature to enhance the ambiance. This space should be a refuge, a place where the outside world fades away, allowing you to connect with the present moment. Personalize your tea corner with items that bring you joy, like your favorite cup or a cherished teapot, to make your tea ritual even more special.

The Ritual of Preparation

Engage in the process of tea preparation as a mindful activity. Measure your tea leaves, heat the water, and watch the leaves unfurl. This ritualistic approach helps ground you in the present moment, offering a break from daily stresses. The act of preparing tea becomes a form of meditation, a way to slow down and appreciate the simple pleasures in life. This mindful engagement with the process can turn an ordinary activity into a deeply calming and reflective practice.

Enjoy!

Once you have chosen your tea, created a beautiful space for it, and taken the time to prepare it, all that is left to do is enjoy! In the moments that you sip your tea, we encourage you to really stay present in those moments. Take the time to savor each breathe and sip mindfully. Perhaps, practice gratitude with each sip designate each one to something your are grateful for in your life. Maybe instead reflect about something that is bringing you joy currently. Setting aside this time for yourself is a way to prioritize yourself, your mental health, and your well being each day. :)

Tell us about your tea routine. When do you do it? Which tea do you use? Is there anything special that you choose to add each time? We can't wait to hear how you are sipping! - Kaytea :)

  • My tea routine is in the morning and each day I will make some type of green tea, either a Gyokuro or a Matcha. There is nothing better this time of year than coming in from the cold after my morning workout and sipping on a nice warm cup of tea! With my matcha, I like to make my own matcha latte with a little bit of almond milk, hot water (175 degrees), vanilla extract, and vanilla!

  • My daughter likes me to brew Good Life Tea for both of us before school so she can take some to school with her. The Amethyst Berry is our newest favorite flavor & I enjoy the beautiful purple color it becomes as it steeps!
We also enjoy it in the evening when we can relax with a cup of tea. We want to thank all of the wonderful people at Good Life Tea for all of their help picking teas we enjoy and also for those teas being a wonderful start & finish to each day! Happy 2024!
